Went to a service this mornin...must say that its a rather different experience and a rather weird one considering that i am not a christian. FYI, i do have a religion but i went cos i have never been to a service before. Personally, i think that they are too aggressive, I noe its nice if u are passionate about wat you believe and i suppose that they think that everyone whu goes to church are staunch believers but they do not realise that non-believers may get freaked out by they way they are "hard-selling" the religion. I am being very frank here, but when they were singing, it does feel cult-ish to me cos there are people waving their hands in mid air with their eyes closed as if they were in a trance...It kinda gives me shudders seeing such behaviours.
I think people believe in a religion to find solace and blunt as i may be, people only turn to divine intervention in times of adversity and its hard to get people to believe in something they have no need for jus by praising lord and telling themselves that someone paid the price for their sins some 2000 yrs ago. Personally, i am not taken in. What i see in a religion should be testimonials of people whu reallie benefit from praying and praying fer the accumulation of good fortune.
Enough of christianity, now let me do a little "preaching" as well, wonder if u guys have heard about it, if u want to know more about my religion, Soka Association, feel free to click on the link Soka Gakkai International. I welcome any questions provided i have the answers cos i am rather slack in my religious studies. =) okies, now back to studyin fer MA, tmr got test man!!
