First and foremost, i wanna declare that the rain god (if something like that exists) hates me!! He/She seem to be putting a cloud over my head and takes every chance possible to pour it over me...i am serious, the rain god hates me!! And the weird thing is that it always happen on Mondays...last week, it started pouring (there was sunshine, mind you) the moment i stepped out of raffles city to go home. And this mornin, it started pouring when i was 1 stop away from the bras basah bus stop i always alight in order to save on bus fare (as u can see, i am a pretty thrifty OR pretty, thrifty ger, whichever you prefer it to be). Thought i will be early so i can go school shit and get my AIS textbook at the locker but the rain dashed it. Reached the school with wet slippers and slightly wet hair. But at least Tommy was in the same bus as me and i got company to stand at the bus stop while tryin to wait for the rain to stop. In the end, we took a bus down 1 stop to alight in after Chijmes and ran across the road into biz block. That was the most unglam thing i had done in SMU since we moved to the city campus.
Well, not forgettin the fact that on both days, i saw the blardy umbrella on my table before gettin out of the house. Call me a loser or lazy ger if you want. My policy still stays: If it is not rainin when i left the house, the brolly stays on the table.
Later at nite, went to Louis' 21st bdae with Zing, he said he only invited 15 frens and since he invited me and Zing, i consider us to be his top 15 frens...haha how funny, both of u kinda freaked out when we realised his WHOLE family will be at the party...haha but his "cousins" turned out to be nice pple to talk to...
Haha, talked to Louis' "cousins" - ALex and Shireen and cousin - Simon (he turned out to be emma's choir fren...small world. Well, notice the apostrophes that comes with the word "cousins"? It was because we tot Alex and Shireen were Louis' cousins cos he jus said he wants to intro us his cousins and jus left left us there, so naturally we tot the whole table consists of his cousins. Then it turned out that Louis' dun reallie noe Alex. Speaking ofAlex, he is curently the president of Hall 10 in NTU and majoring in HR (Business) so he is like the one getting everyone to talk to each other. Jus a very "people" person who believes that Uni life is not abit academic which i agree oso but he seem to think i am a no life mugger...wateva, whu ask me not to have a CCA in sch?? Another zai one is Simon, he jus took the initiative to walk over to our side and introduced himself...and i tell you, his degree of separation to anyone is at most 2 degrees, he knows all of us thru a common fren. ALL 4 OF US!! Tell me how zai is that?? haha
They are reallie good examples of active networking...they take the initiative and are able to fill the conversation with topics...something i admire. I believe they are the kind of people who will succeed in life. Reallie.
But then again, call me a sexist or wat, i feel that active networking like goin up to a group of pple you dunno is a male action. It is jus weird for a ger to go up to a group of people (all gers group excluded) and make frens and then go on to acknowlegde frens based on friendster web...Jus not something that gers can bring out. For example, say that day me and jiahui walked past the steps opp Kopitiam underground underneath the escalator to LKC Lib, we saw the jay chou look-alike sitting on the steps eating bao and we tot woahh....he still look sey despite sitting like a loner. Then we tot, if a ger were to be sittin there alone eating bao, she would look pathetic aka duo4 luo4...my point is that gers jus cannot bring out certain sey-ness that guys can bring out so effortlessly...this is something i jus have to hand in to them. So for the contenders, dun jus come and tell me "eh, gers can be sey sitting down eating bao lors", Prove it!
